Mitsubishi was formed in 1970

Mitsubishi was the automotive division of one of Japan's largest industrial groups. Various associations, including Chrysler, Volvo, Peugeot and Citroen, put Mitsubishi on the world automotive scene early on. Racing success and a unique selection of popular niche' vehicles gave Mitsubishi moderate success; however, the company has not established an image most buyers could identify with. Mitsubishi's business plan is to focus a large amount of their production towards hybrid and battery-powered models; including plug-in hybrids. If early reviews are any indication, Mitsubishi has made a smart move, and look for them to be a leader in bringing electric vehicles to the masses.
